NNPCL quells Nigerians fear of fuel scarcity

THE Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has allayed the fears of Nigerians about fuel scarcity due to the emergence of queues in some parts of the country.

According to media reports, NNPCL disclosed this information in a statement signed by the company’s retail subsidiary and posted on its official X handle on Thursday, October 19, 2023.6bf50993-fa49-48d3-8472-95d4d2f2a17c

The company attributed the re-emergence of queues in Lagos and some parts of the Federal Capital Territory to reduced depot loadout in Apapa, Lagos, in the past few days, adding that the issue had been addressed and it has sufficient petrol for 30 days.

The company advised motorists to avoid panic buying as the distribution of the product would normalise in days.

“This is due to reduced depot loadout in Apapa, Lagos, over a few days, and the root cause has since been addressed.

“We assure all Nigerians that there is ample supply with a sufficiency of at least 30 days. Motorists are advised to desist from panic buying as distribution will normalise over the next few days,” the statement read.
