THE ongoing reconstruction of Ifoshi Road in the Ejigbo LCDA is gradually coming to an end as asphalt laying has been completed.
The reconstruction, which is in two sections, consists of asphalt and interlocking. The length of the asphalt is 510m by 14.85m, while that of the interlocking will be 440m by 15m. Hence the total length is 950 metres, almost a kilometre (km).
The construction starts from the Pipeline area, beside the Ejigbo Divisional Police Headquarters, down to Iyana-Ejigbo. Ifoshi Road is one of the longest roads in the entire Local Council, and it is serving the entire community. It is a link road from Iyana-Ejigbo to Idimu and Orisumbare.
People from Alimosho, Ojo, and Badagry even connect the Island, Mainland, and other places through this road. It is a major entry point of the community, hence it is a very important road.
Upon completion of this project, the economy and well-being of the people would surely be improved, businesses of commercial vehicles plying the route will be easier, businesses in the axis will be more easily accessible and open to patronage, and less time would be spent on the road by road users. In other words, this reconstruction would be of tremendous benefit to all.
