BARELY 22 hours after the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, confirmed the appointment of Dr Emmanualla Zamba as the General Manager of the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), the agency has launched a sensitisation campaign across the State.

The campaign stands to educate and enlighten residents on the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) and how enrollees can have access to adequate healthcare via EKO telemed.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the event on Monday in Ikeja, the General Manager, LASHMA, Dr Emmanuella Zamba, stated that the tour would enable the Agency to properly inform, educate and enlighten Lagosians on the need to enrol on the Lagos State Health Scheme.

Dr Zamba said that any resident who enrols on the Scheme also has the opportunity to access care through EKOTELEMED via audio or video calls from the comfort of their homes.

She disclosed that enrollees can gain access to highly- trained and experienced medical doctors 24/7 in any of the four main Nigerian languages - English, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.

According to her, “With EKOTELEMED, there is a guarantee of immediate, easy, accessible and affordable healthcare to Lagos residents as they are free to speak to medical personnel from wherever they are via a toll-free line 08000-EKOMED (08000356633)”.

“The sensitisation campaign across the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas is expected to bring information closer to Lagos residents, especially those at the grassroots and stimulate their interest in enrolling on the Lagos State Health Scheme”, she added.

Commending governor Sanwo-olu for graciously approving the EKOTELEMED platform for LSHS enrollees, Dr Zamba said that the gesture has further demonstrated the present administration’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable healthcare to the residents of the State.

She, therefore, appealed to all residents in the State, who are yet to enrol on the scheme, to do so immediately in order to enjoy the benefits and opportunities inherent in it for subscribers.
