THE Lagos West youth, under the umbrella of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has endorsed Dr Idiat Adebule, as their preferred senatorial candidate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
According to information reaching Alimoshotoday, the Lagos West NYCN endorsed the former Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, on Thursday, July 14, 2022, during the youth and governance symposium organized by the leadership of NYCN Lagos West Senatorial District at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.
The program had in attendance over 2,000 youth and electorates drawn from various strata of the society, especially the 28 LGAs and LCDAs in the Lagos West Senatorial District.
According to the organizer and Vice-Chairman of NYCN, Lagos West Senatorial District, Comrade Ademosu Jamiu, the event, which was themed, “Youth And Governance: Active And Conscientious Involvement Towards Building A Greater Nation”, was organized to sensitize the youth to the all-important need to take active roles in politics moving forward.
The coordinators of the twenty-eight local branches, youth leaders and stakeholders present endorsed the former deputy governor, describing her as the mother of the youth.
Speaking on the need for such a political move, Ademosu clarified that, though the youth body is not partisan, the impressive record of Adebule in youth development has motivated all to endorse her.
He added that with Adebule replacing the outgoing Senator Olamilekan Adeola in the Red Chamber, the youth can be assured of continued development in the district and progressive legislation.
