A jealous woman simply identified as Ifeoluwa Akanji, has allegedly set her husband, Bolu Bamidele ablaze over alleged infidelity in the Osogbo area of Osun State.

According to media reports, before the unfortunate event which occurred on Sunday, July 17, 2022, Bamidele and Ifeoluwa had had a marriage engagement in March 2022 before he travelled to Cairo, Egypt, where he is based.

A source close to the deceased claimed that Bamidele built a bungalow for Ifeoluwa in Osogbo and bought her a car adding that trouble started when Bamidele returned to Nigeria to celebrate Ifeoluwa’s birthday last week and Ife discovered while going through his phone, that he had impregnated another woman.

“Bolu and Ifeoluwa had been on the issue for about a week before she set the private house on fire while Bolu was inside the house, locking all entrances on Sunday and fled to an unknown destination.

“We were pouring sand and water and trying to break into the house through the window to rescue Bamidele.

“We broke about four windows before we could get into the house. We were able to rescue Bamidele after about 40 minutes when he was in the fire.

“We found him beside a burnt bed and we rushed him to a nearby hospital and he was referred to Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo and later referred to Ibadan for treatment,” a source narrated.

Bamidele, who died from the burn injuries on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, will be buried later this week by his family members.

Meanwhile, Ife, who is nowhere to be found, had left a cryptic post on her WhatsApp status that reads, “I’ve always been a calm girl and I have never done this in my life but Teebam has pushed me to the edge. At this point, you all will weep over myself and him before daybreak. I’m promising you all that.”

While confirming the incident, the Osun State Police PRO, Yemisi Opalola has affirmed that the Osun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for Ife in a bid to bring her to justice.
