A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday, June 26, 2023, remanded the parents of a female minor for allegedly giving their consent to a video sexually exploiting their 10-year-old daughter.
According to media reports, the court also remanded the skit maker, Maruf Abdullahi, aka Trinity Guy, to the Agodi Correctional Centre for the alleged sexual exploitation of the 10-year-old girl in a trending video clip.
The minor’s parents, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and sexual abuse and exploitation alongside Trinity Guy.
The Magistrate, P.O. Adetuyibi, did not take the defendants’ plea for want of jurisdiction, saying the case file had been duplicated at the State Ministry of Justice, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Meanwhile, reacting to the development, Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi, using his verified Instagram page, @realyomifabiyi, said the prankster should be cautioned and advised on proper procedures.
“He sought parental consent; he never exposed his sexual organ to the child; he never sought to derive sexual pleasure at any time, and it was a skit/prank.
“All we want is a safer society for our children and ourselves. Intentions are what both the law and universe judge in every seen and unseen action,” his statement read in part.
