Armed policemen have allegedly fired live bullets at thousands of protesters that gathered at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos, after a curfew was declared by the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Recall that Sanwo-Olu had earlier imposed a curfew on residents of Lagos State as suspected hoodlums, under the guise of the #EndSARS protests, were reportedly unleashing mayhem in the State.
Some of the #Endsars protesters had continued with the protest despite the 24-hour curfew imposed by the state government.
However, the sound of gunfire rented the air at about 6:45 pm as protesters scampered for safety.
The number of casualties could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
