THE Nazareth Baptist Church in Ebuhleni, North of Durban in South Africa has reportedly awarded virgins in the church with a virginity certificate after conducting free virginity test on female members who are 18 years and older.
According to media reports, the exercise is to encourage and promote chastity among women and young girls in society.
It is reported that the practice is an annual exercise carried out by the church within the middle of the year and at the end of the exercise, a Certificate of Virginity and a white mark are bestowed on the successful ones.
The rationale for carrying out the test within the middle of the year is so that the certificates issued will still be valid the following year until the next virginity check is carried out by the church again.
The test for the 2022/2023 session was conducted by the church on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, and a certificate was issued to the successful ladies. The certificate was signed by the Leader of Nazareth Baptist Virginity and the specialist who carried out the test.
