THE Delta State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old young man identified as Godspower Adegheji, for allegedly hacking his girlfriend, Gift Oloku, 22, to death in the Ozoro area of the state.
According to media reports, Godspower allegedly attacked Gift with a machete after she mistakenly broke the screen of his iPhone 11 pro max during an argument on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
While confirming the incident on Sunday, July 17, 2022, the State’s PPRO, Bright Edafe, claimed that trouble started after the Godspower confronted Gift for going out without telling him.
He was said to have accused her of infidelity, which led to an argument, and in the process, she mistakenly broke his phone, which led to Godspower attacking and hacking her to death with a machete.
“People said he was high that he didn’t do it with his clear eyes because he didn’t run away after killing her, instead, he rushed her to a general hospital.
The girl is a student of the Ozoro polytechnic, but the guy is not. Maybe he has graduated. The guy must have been on drugs last night, it was this morning that he regained himself and rushed the girl to the hospital,” a source claimed.
