Dubem Julius/Nwaoha F. scams students for a living

ALIMOSHOTODAY.COM was hinted by one of the foremost women and girls rights foundation in Lagos State, Women and Girls Empowerment Foundation International (WOGEFI) about one Dubem Julius Nwaoha F. who is in the business of scamming people out of their hard-earned money.

While speaking with AlimoshoToday’s correspondent, the Project Manager of WOGEFI said that Dubem from Anambra State, who goes by Dubem Julius, focuses on scamming students, especially vulnerable and unsuspecting female students out of their school fees.

His recent victim, a student of the Lagos State University (Obiageli Abafor-Grimsons), who spoke with AlimoshoToday’s correspondent stated that Dubem, who lives in Lekki (according to his Facebook profile), scammed her out of N60,000, just one week after they met, after claiming he will assist in paying her school fees.9039

According to her, she started chatting with Dubem on Facebook on March 12, 2024, after sending him a friend request on the platform. Their communication then moved to WhatsApp, where she told Dubem about her plans to drop out of school because of the difficulty paying her fees.

She added that shortly after that conversation, she informed Dubem that she now has N60,000 out of her fees and needs only N15,500 to balance up, which Dubem promised to give.

However, she said Dubem requested confirmation that the money was actually for her fees and she sent him her details on the school fees portal as proof.

Thereafter, under the pretext of helping her pay the fees, on March 17, 2024, Dubem requested she send him the N60,000 she had to his Access Bank account while he added the balance to help her pay up, which she innocently did.

Trouble started when Dubem said he was yet to get an alert after about 12 hours of her sending the money. Around noon the next day, Dubem said he was at the bank sorting the issue and stopped picking up her calls around 5 pm that day.

Now sure that she had been scammed, the victim added Dubem and some of her friends to a WhatsApp group chat, where she pleaded with him to return her school fees, but Dubem left the group chat and blocked her on WhatsApp and Facebook.

All efforts to reach Dubem have proved abortive, but the nearest police station to the victim has been notified and officers are currently on Dubem’s trail.
