1. CBN GIVES FINAL VERDICT ON OLD NAIRA NOTES6482
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that the old naira notes will remain legal tender beyond December 31, 2023, as they no longer have a deadline. A statement by the Apex Bank said it has extended “the legal tender status deadline of the old design of N200, N500 and N1,000 denominations, ad infinitum”.

The Avila Naturalle sponsored Alimosho Leaders of Tomorrow Conference (ALoTC) 2023, held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, has been described by the Lagos State Ministry of Education's representative, Dr Olubukola Rosanwo, as 'very impressive. Dr Olubukola Rosanwo mentioned that the conference addressed crucial aspects of youth development, and its impact on the youth in the Alimosho community was commendable.

3. LASU, ASTON HOLDS BRITISH COUNCIL-FUNDED PREVENTING SEXUAL VIOLENCE SYMPOSIUM6460
Lagos State University (LASU), in partnership with Aston University, Birmingham UK, has held a symposium on Preventing Sexual Violence on University Campuses in Nigeria: A Case Study of Universities in Lagos State, funded by the British Council’s Going Global Partnership programme.

4.  GRADUATE BURNS CERTIFICATE, OTHER CREDENTIALS OVER UNEMPLOYMENT6450
A Nigerian graduate identified as Olutimain Ilenre has burnt his original certificates, including his Bachelor of Arts, secondary school certificate, NYSC certificate, and UTME result paper. In a video released on social media, the graduate of History and International Studies from Ajayi Crowther University attributed his decision to lack of employment, stating that the current situation in the country has rendered his certificates useless.

5. NIGERIAN WIG MAKER SETS WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST HANDMADE WIG6447
Nigerian wig maker, Helen Williams has set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) by creating the world’s longest handmade wig, measuring 351.28 meters (1,152 feet 5 inches). Helen dedicated 11 days and spent over two million naira (£2,031; $2,493) in crafting the wig.

6. LASU REMOVES DSA OVER CERTIFICATE RACKETEERING ALLEGATIONS

The Lagos State University, Ojo, has removed the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Tajudeen Olumoko, over alleged certificate sales. Reports suggest that a certificate racketeering syndicate had genuine Lagos State University certificates that anyone interested could purchase for between N2m and N3m.
