UNILAG reopens ahead of second semester exams.

THE management of the University of Lagos has approved the reopening of the campus and hostels in preparation for the second-semester examination which would is scheduled to commence on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

This information was disclosed by the University's registrar, Mr Oladejo Azeez, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Mr Azeez reiterates that, while physical examination begins on campus, strict Covid-19 safety protocols would be adhered to for the safety of members of staff and students during the exams.

He also mentioned that the university has made special arrangements with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi-Araba and the Lagos State-owned Gbagada General Hospital to isolate and treat anyone that contracts the virus during the exams.

However, Oladejo said only bonafide students with allocated bed spaces would be allowed to access hostels as they would be admitted in batches.

He stated that 100 and 200 levels students would move in from Thursday, August 26, and vacate the hostels on or before Saturday, September 11, 2021.

The 500 level students of the Faculty of Law would move in from August 28 and vacate by September 5, 2021. All the 300 level students would resume by September 11 and leave by September 18, 2021.

The final batch would be the 400 and other 500 level students. They are expected to move into the hostels on Saturday, September 18, and vacate on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

It should be noted that the school has been shut for six weeks and all physical lectures suspended to curb the spread of Covid-19 on the campus.
