WAPA educates market union leaders on SGBV

THE Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in conjunction with the United Nations Population Fund, recently organised a two-day workshop for Market Union leaders in Lagos State on Sensitization and Advocacy against all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

THE Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in conjunction with the United Nations Population Fund, recently organised a two-day workshop for Market Union leaders in Lagos State on Sensitization and Advocacy against all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

The workshop was flagged open by the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Oluyemi Kalesanwo.

The two critical topics the workshop focused on were:" Understanding Gender-Based Violence and Where to Get Help in Lagos State" and "Recognising Medical Problems Among Abused Women and How to be of Help in Lagos State."

In attendance were market union leaders from Odi Olowo/ Ojuwoye, Mushin, Ikeja, Kosofe, Alimosho, Ojo, Yaba, Surulere and Onigbongbo local governments.
