The holidays are here; a ready advantage for Alimosho parents!

Our children's holidays are an opportunity for us to be relieved, unwind and appreciate ourselves for being responsible and devoted parents, and then replan for the new session.

IT'S the holiday season as our children in Alimosho take a break away from school to replenish body and soul. The holidays will run into two months and our children will have a lot of time to mend up with their friends, share great moments, and particularly, play uninterrupted. But it's also an opportunity for parents to be relieved and plan for the new academic session ahead.

The costs of everything are soaring. Fuel sells at N600 per litre, costs of moving around have jumped off the roof, the costs of food are alarming, and a dollar to naira is N850. 3978

Landlords are out with sharpened teeth to devour their talents too. A two-bedroom flat in Igando (of all places) is around N750,000, a Lagos to New York flight is on average around N1.5 million, and school fees of federal schools have gone up in three folds too! Unfortunately, we the parents are the ones on the wrong side of the economic situation.

Our children's holidays are an opportunity for us to be relieved and then to replan. While the children are on holiday, let's take the opportunity of the break to unwind and appreciate ourselves for being responsible and devoted parents. Let's celebrate ourselves for jobs well done on our children. 3977

Then, let's plan for the new coming session. There will be school fees to be paid, and that will come in increments. Let's save, watch our spending, and if possible, do something extra to earn a little more. Our children now on holiday are the future, and they are our most primary investment. Anything to help us nurture them through the pathway to lifetime success should be embraced. Even if we have to spend less and eat little to have them established. Every parent in Alimosho, I'm sure, will agree with me.
