Sanwo-Olu, Lagos APC mourns tragic death of former youth leader, Sanyaolu

A former Lagos APC youth leader and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tertiary Education, Youths, and Student affairs, Omotayo Sanyaolu is dead.

According to media reports, Sanyaolu died on Friday, July 29, 2022, after he was involved in an auto crash in the Maryland area of Lagos.

Reacting to the tragic incident, spokesperson of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Seye Oladejo in a statement mourned the passing of Sanyaolu, describing him as a committed party youth leader.

“Lagos state APC regrets to announce the untimely passage of the former state youth leader, Omotayo Sanyaolu who was until his death, the Senior Special Assistant to the state government on Tertiary Education, Youths and Student affairs.

“Tayo was a committed party youth leader who proved himself as a great mobiliser and excelled in all his assignments. He will be surely missed especially at a time like this by the entire party, family, friends and well-wishers. May his soul Rest in Peace,” the statement added.

In a similar reaction, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile regretted the passing of Sanyaolu.

“The death of a loved one is usually painful as it is irreparable, but we thank God that Omotayo Sanyaolu made a positive impact during his short but eventful lifetime. He served our party, APC passionately and meritoriously as youth leader and contributed to it’s victory in many elections.”

“I sympathise with his widow, children, siblings, friends and the entire family as well as Lagos State and the APC family. I pray that God will grant the late Omotayo Sanyaolu eternal rest and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. We will miss Tayo,” the message reads in part.
