Sanwo-Olu inaugurates governing council for LASU, others

THE Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday inaugurated a team of the Governing Council in Lagos State tertiary institutions.

THE Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday inaugurated a team of the Governing Council in Lagos State tertiary institutions. 

 According to him, the inauguration is aimed at transforming tertiary institutions in Lagos into innovation centres.

The institutions include the prestigious, Lagos State University, (LASU), Lagos State Polytechnic, (LASPOTECH) and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, (MOCPED).

Mr Sanwo-Olu said: "Our reform agenda is aimed at transforming tertiary institutions in Lagos into innovation centres. To achieve this, yesterday, I inaugurated the Governing Councils of LASU, LASPOTECH, AOCOED and MOCPED to drive this vision."


Speaking on the members appointed, the governor further stated that sufficient time was taken to select distinguished Nigerians as members of the Councils.

"I have no doubt that we have chosen wisely with the calibre of people we picked. The appointment comes with huge responsibilities that must be discharged with integrity, foresight, and dedication," he clarified.

"Tertiary institutions are critical in nurturing individuals to become innovators and wealth creators who will contribute to accelerating the growth of the economy. Our goal is to turn our schools around to become models of excellence in the delivery of high-quality education," he concluded.
