NIGERIA 2023: Alimosho ethnic groups drum support for Tinubu, other APC candidates

THE ethnic groups comprising of the Hausa, Igbo, Arewa, and South-South communities living in the Alimosho Federal Constituency have drummed support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; Lagos West Senatorial District candidate, Dr Idiat Adebule; Alimosho House of Representatives candidate, Hon Ganiyu Adele Ayuba; and the two Alimosho Lagos State House of Assembly candidates, Hon. Lukman Orelope; and Hon. Kehinde Joseph.

Information reaching Alimoshotoday states that the endorsement came at the Alimosho APC leadership stakeholders meeting held with the groups at the Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, where the group vowed to canvass their people to cast their votes for the APC candidates at the polls, come February 25 and March 11, 2023.

Addressing the over 3,000 ethnicities resident in the constituency, who attended the meeting, the Alimosho APC Apex Leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, enjoined the groups to do away with nepotism and tribalism, adding that they should vote for a patriotic and genuine leader who has the interest of the general public at heart, which, he said, Tinubu represents.

In his words; “Tinubu is not a tribalistic leader. Tinubu accommodates everyone, irrespective of their ethnicity and religious background.”

Speaking on the state of the nation, the APC party Chieftain said the nation's present economic challenges are not peculiar to any tribe but everybody, noting that support and vote for Asiwju Tinubu will change all situations and improve people's standard of living.

On his part, one of the APC party’s Alimosho leaders, Pa Olusegun Badejo Tinubu, said, “Tinubu's developmental magic in Lagos State shall replicate across other states in Nigeria if he is elected as the next president of the country.”
He also noted that Lagos was in a state of decay when Tinubu took over as the State Governor in 1999.

According to Pa Badejo, "When Asiwaju took over Lagos in 1999, Lagos was "Roforofo. Somebody who could turn Lagos into a megacity, we need such a person to turn Nigeria into a greater and better nation.

"Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has showcased his political capability and leadership sagacity in Lagos State; he has done it across the South-Western states and moved across Niger and the northern region; we need him to develop our nation."

Representatives of the groups then assured of their unwavering support for all APC candidates and promised to mobilize and vote massively for APC during the forthcoming general elections.
