LEARNING from the events of February 25, 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) party in the Alimosho LGA has resolved its internal differences ahead of Saturday's election.
Recall that Alimoshotoday had written several articles to show that Asiwaju's shocking defeat in the APC stronghold - Alimosho was attributed, not only to the support of the Igbo and Obidient followership but also to a deep-seated rift within the rank and file of the Progressives party in the area.
However, the leaders of the party have gone back to the drawing board and reviewed where they made mistakes, embarking on reconciliations to correct all errors.
An online news medium, City People gathered that the woeful results of the Alimosho election were the result of the fight between the Asiwaju Tinubu's Group and the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola's Group, over the control of that vast LGA. For many years, Aregbesola used to control the affairs of the dominant political group in that area. That was before he fell out with Tinubu, who now decided to take away the leadership from Aregbesola and empower other party leaders.
Many people attribute the loss of Alimosho by APC to the fight within the ranks of the APC Mandate Group. Some state executive committee members have accused the leadership of the party of being dictatorial.
Over the years, the battle for the control of Alimosho has been a tough one among the APC leaders. As the last elections drew near, the APC party leaders engaged in a lot of bickering, which caused them Alimosho.
Distribution of money also played a major part in the crisis, as the money the party got for the mobilisation of its party members didn’t go around and that led to a fight.
With all disputes settled, the APC seems confident that they will be coasting to victory on Saturday, wherein the results of this peace and reconciliatory efforts will manifest.
