Jennifer as Deputy Governor of Lagos looks tempting, however...

Funke working out of her marriage at the time the news of her ambition came into the open is something people frowned at.

Funke Akindele

FUNKE Akindele, a Nigerian TV icon has put her feet into politics and luckily she skipped crawling all to a good start. She is the Deputy Governor of Lagos State aspirant under the People's Democratic Party, PDP, matching with Olajide Adediran (Jandor), the Lagos State Governor hopeful come 2023.

Jandor's choice of Funke is calculative and to me impressive. Funke is admired by millions of people and it is a good foresight to find a way to add Funke's beloveds to the numbers, among other objectives. Funke is also educated, smart, vocal, bold, and she has the appearance of a woman who will speak aloud in favour and in defence of Lagos women and their children. However, there are rough edges around PDP's strategy.

Funke working out of her marriage at the time the news of her ambition came into the open is something people frowned at. It suggested, directly, to the politically enthusiastic ones that it was just a dive to facelift the Deputy Governor aspirant's status.

Others in general spat on hearing the shocking news and wondered how a woman who won't make her home be able to help make good of our Lagos.

Unfortunately, these mix feelings have the potential to pull back the string on Jandor and Funke's campaign and I worry. Jandor has potential and Funke by his side seems just fit. However....
