Covid-19: No vaccination, No work – FG warns civil servants

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that starting from December 1, 2021, there would be enforcement of the ‘no vaccination, no work rule’ for all civil servants.

THIS information was disclosed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustaphaha, during a media briefing by the PSC in Abuja on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Mr. Mustapha said; “With effect from December 1, 2021, Federal Government employees shall be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination or present a negative Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result done within 72 hours, to gain access to their offices in all locations within Nigeria and our missions abroad. An appropriate service-wide advisory/circular will be issued to guide the process.”

Mr. Mustapha added that data generated over the last four weeks on testing have shown that the rate of infection is declining in some states while witnessing a rise in others. He put the combined total figure for testing by PCR and Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) at about 3, 141,795 million persons.
