1. FIRE GUTS POPULAR LAGOS CHURCH
A popular church, which is known as Household of David Church, located at Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja Lagos, was on Wednesday morning gutted by fire. The incident was confirmed by the Spokesperson of the Lagos State Fire Service, Amodu Shakiri, attributing it to the overheating of the church’s auditorium roof.
2. MAN BAGS LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR INFECTING WIFE’S 14-YEAR-OLD NIECE WITH HIV
A Lagos man identified as Richard Saviour has been sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his wife’s 14-year-old niece and infecting her with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
3. LAGOS PASTOR BAGS LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPING CHURCH MEMBER
An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Friday sentenced the Founder of iReign Christian Ministry, Pastor Feyi Daniels, to life imprisonment for “raping a church member”. According to media reports, the trial judge, Rahman Oshodi, found the Lagos cleric guilty of rape and sexual assault of a female worshipper.
4. OUTRAGE AS TEACHER ALLEGEDLY FLOGS STUDENT TO DEATH IN LAGOS
There was commotion and chaos at Araromi Ilogbo Secondary School in the Oko Afo area of Lagos as pupils of the school protested the death of one of their colleagues who was allegedly flogged to death by a teacher. It was gathered that the 16-year-old, who had been ill for some days, was rushed to a hospital after he was flogged, where he was confirmed dead.
