Life Savers Internationational (LSI), in conjunction with Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service, is bringing the September Blood drive to Alimosho.

It is scheduled to hold at the Alimosho General Hospital, Igando on Saturday, September 19, 2020.

In response to what use the donated blood will be put, the main host of the September blood drive and founding member named Abari Nimatallah, told AlimoshoToday that the blood are screened, treated and given to those in need.

At the hospitals blood may not be given for free, as the amount charged for the blood is a refund for the screening, preservation and preparation of the blood for the end-user.

"A voluntary donor has a blood credit anytime he donates blood. If he presents his donor card at any Lagos State government-owned hospital, he would be given blood for free to his or his family's benefit.

"In the meantime when the blood is not needed, it is kept in the blood bank "

LSI, a not-for profit and non-governmental initiative is concerned that Safe Blood and Safe Water are critical to human lives. To make it go round, regular blood donation awareness drives like September Blood drive are organised.

The organisation started the September Blood drive at the LSBTS Blood Donation Center, Odan, and 14 pints of blood were reportedly added to their blood bank.
