THE wife of the Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Mrs Mariam Abiodun Famuyiwa, accompanied by the Supervisor for Women and Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Hon. Adepeju Adeleye, and HoD of WAPA, Mrs Mobolaji Asubiojo, led the Women of the LCDA to this year's International Women's Day celebration held at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Lagos.
The annual event, which signifies the powerful role women play at home, society, and especially nation-building, had in attendance women from all walks of life and the 57 LGAs and LCDAs as led by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
During the event, Mrs Famuyiwa appreciated the Agbado Oke-Odo Women for their unwavering support to her husband-led administration, reiterating Hon. David Famuyiwa’s gender-friendly attributes.
The women, who were all clad in purple-themed attire, lauded the Council Chairman for all he does, especially for the women.
The highlight of the event was the women of the 57 LGAs and LCDAs taking turns to showcase the rich culture of Lagos State.
This year's IWD celebration was indeed eventful, and the women can only hope that the campaign for this year – Inspire Inclusion will be upheld.
