THE Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), has allayed the fear of Lagosians over the trending viral video about pipeline vandalism around the Aboru area of Iyana Ipaja in the Alimosho LGA.

According to media reports, the LSFRS Director, Margaret Adeseye, in a statement, urged residents to disregard the video, describing it as a false alarm.

In the video, a male voiceover was alerting the authorities of the State to come to the community’s rescue in averting the imminent danger if the vandalism results in a fire incident.4875

Adeseye noted that the Service had initially mobilised its firefighters to the reported address, but efforts to trace the incident proved abortive as such an incident did not happen in that area as claimed in the viral video.

She said that further investigation on the matter revealed that the trending video is of an old incident that had happened in the area on October 30, 2020.

Adeseye urged the general public to ignore the trending video and go about their normal activities without fear.
