THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, played host to the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) at the council secretariat.

This visit was an annual statutory visit led by the Chairman of the Commission, Mr Kamal Baiyewu, who was represented by the Commissioner of the Lagos Island Division, Hon. Akeem Bamgbala.

Mr Akeem, while delivering his welcome address, appreciated the Council Mayor for providing good welfare and a conducive working environment for the Council workers. He further stated that the visit was mainly to discuss improved staff welfare.

In his remarks, the Council Mayor attributed his administration's success to the cooperation and support of all the workers in the Council, describing them as disciplined, dedicated, and highly committed technocrats. He went on to encourage them not to relent in boosting the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Council. 

He concluded by promising his administration's continued enabling environment and necessary motivation for the workers to enhance better service delivery to members of the public.4730

The Director of Admin and Human Resources, Mrs Oluwatosin Adegun, representing the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, disclosed that training has begun for stagnated officers while encouraging staffers going for this training to always be ready to impart other staff by using the "π™©π™§π™–π™žπ™£ π™©π™π™š π™©π™§π™–π™žπ™£π™šπ™§" methodology. 

She also informed that workers' deployment has commenced and deployed staff should not lobby or see it as a witch-hunt but rather as a means to acquire more skills elsewhere. She further explained that deployment builds resilience. 

She also encouraged the Council Chairman and Council Manager to ensure that retiring officers are well celebrated as it is statutory and depicts a sense of belonging while increasing productivity. 4729

The Director, Recruitment, Discipline and Exit of LGSC, Mr Ogabi Samson, who represented the Permanent Secretary, LGSC, spoke exclusively on Personnel Management Board (PMB). He also highlighted the need for workers' punctuality and commitment to their duties, as no form of indiscipline will henceforth be tolerated by the Commission. He also reiterated the need for retiring staff to commence their pension process early.

The Council-Manager, Mr Olugbenga Shogbanmu, appreciated the Commission for the visit while promising that every member of staff would not relent in the discharge of their duties, which has been and will always bring about meaningful development to the grassroots.
