IN response to the current hardship ravaging the country and the commitment of the administration of the Conference 57 Chairmen in Lagos State to cushion the removal of fuel subsidy, it was agreed that a palliative scheme be implemented in all Local Government Areas of the State.

To this end, the Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa, embarked on the distribution of food items to the residents of the council on Thursday, August 17, 2023. 5267

The Council Mayor, while addressing the community members, said the bulk of the food items, including rice, beans, garri, sugar, and other items, would be distributed to about 2,000 beneficiaries, who are mainly the vulnerable and the less privileged, adding that the distribution exercise will continue in subsequent months.

The Chairman also appreciated the swift intervention of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to cushion the adverse effects caused by the removal of subsidy through several implementations, ranging from the slash in transportation fares, health services, and food palliatives, to mention but a few. However, he urged all Lagosians to keep supporting the Governor’s administration to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.5268
