THE Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa has celebrated Agbado Oke-Odo women as the world celebrates International Women’s Day today Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

In a felicitation post signed by the Chairman, he wrote; “The problems faced by women were seen by the United Nations and to spread awareness among people, the celebration of women began on 8th March 1975 as International Women’s Day. The Year 1975 was considered the International Women’s Year. The purple colour was chosen for women’s day as it symbolizes dignity and justice.

“Behind every successful man, there is a woman, so goes the saying! This age-long saying highlights the major contributions of women in society. The majority of us might actually agree with this saying that women are best described as a symbol of positivity, determination, strong willpower, courage, etc.

“Know this fact that without the assistance of women, the society cannot move ahead.

“As we mark this year's celebration of International Women's Day with the theme ‘Gender Equality today for a Sustainable Tomorrow’, the world is being reminded that the inclusion of the female gender in all aspects of life is of great essence.”

“On a day like this and beyond, we celebrate the rights and power of women in our society and day-to-day life. We indeed acknowledge your great eminence, significance, and immense contributions to nation-building and making the world a better place to live.

“On behalf of all the male gender in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA and beyond, I sincerely wish every woman in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA and the entire world an amazing International Women’s Day. May your relevance be preserved and appreciated.”

“Happy celebration!”

Famuyiwa has emphasised the importance of women in nation-building and societal development, adding that the relevance of women in society cannot be overlooked.
