THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa, has celebrated the residents of the council area during the commemoration of the year 2023 Democracy Day in Nigeria.
The Council Mayor in his Democracy Day message on Monday, June 12, 2023, said: “I congratulate Nigerians on this day. I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) on this grand celebration of Nigeria's Democracy.
“Today, we remember the heroes that paved the way and paid the ultimate price to enshrine a living system in our nation. We mark this day in honour of these people, many of whom laboured in obscurity and without proper appreciation to achieve this precious feat for the nation.
“Dear compatriots, in the past few days, we are beginning to see a glimpse of what democracy truly should be, through a pathfinder - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who believes in inclusiveness in politics as he demonstrably builds bridges of unity that is positively stringing together the various ethnic and cultural groups in the country.
“I, therefore, encourage all well-meaning citizens of our great country to work to strengthen the systems of government in our spheres of engagement.
“As we advance in democracy, it is my fervent prayer that we shall indeed enjoy the significance of true freedom.
