THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa has celebrated the children in the council area as Nigerians celebrate the Year 2024 Children’s Day.
Famuyiwa, in his Children’s Day message on Monday, May 27, 2024, said, “Today, I celebrate the children of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA and children all over the world on this auspicious occasion of Children’s Day Celebration.
“To parents, caregivers, educators, and other key Government agencies playing a leading role in safeguarding and protecting our children, I call on you to step up your efforts to deliver at the highest level and not to allow anything to chance. Neglect and abuse of our children are still concerns and need to be curbed as the pain caused to children at a very young age can be damaging in adult life.
“Let's bring the synergy to have more programmes to provide them with knowledge, social skills, and resilience to protect them from what can be avoided. We have the duty of care as guardians of their childhood.
“As a Government, I will ensure that my administration continues to put in place the right policies and programmes that guarantee children’s rights and protection while promoting their well-being and integral development.
“I hereby admonish children to be good ambassadors of their parents, shun vices, be of good behaviour, and hope for a brighter future.
“May God bless all our children and keep them under His protection wherever they may be as they are all precious in our eyes.
