114 ROADS: Famuyiwa engages Agbado Oke-Odo stakeholders

THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa has joined his colleagues across the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs to engage the major stakeholders on the construction of Old Otta Road/Owodunni Street, Alagbado as part of the 114 State-wide Roads construction. 

In his remarks, the council Boss explained the need for picking Old Otta Road/Owodunni Street, declaring it is long overdue. He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling every promise he has made as regards developmental projects in the LCDA. 9585

He cited that intense protests and appeals by the communities affected by the state of the road led to the commencement of the construction, adding that the communities can now heave a sigh of relief as the assurances given to them a few years ago have eventually become a reality. He opined that the road, when completed will serve as a critical link with people in Ogun State who share social and economic links with the people of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA.

Hon. Famuyiwa also used the opportunity to reel out other ongoing projects, including seven culverts across the seven wards in the LCDA to effectively connect and improve ease of access in the inner streets. He mentioned that Lawal Street will be interlocked in a matter of weeks. The Chairman also affirmed that prospective and indigent GCE students will be supported through the purchase of November/December GCE forms. He furthermore assured those seeking employment of his administration's plan of an intensive skills acquisition programme that is designed to empower beneficiaries to become self-reliant.9584

He concluded by enjoining the beneficiary communities to extend their maximum cooperation and support to the contractors unobstructed and non-confrontational while imploring them to route their observations, suggestions, and complaints through the supervising Council Engineers.

Stakeholders at the meeting lauded the council Chairman for his transparency and performance while encouraging the contractors to deliver a good road standard within six months.
