SUPER Eagles of Nigeria defender, Semi Ajayi says he is fit, ahead of the AFCON Qualifiers fixture against Guinea Bissau, as he intends to give his best for his country and the team.

The West Bromwich Albion defender is among the 23 players invited by Jose Peseiro to represent Nigeria in the double fixture against Guinea Bissau.

The first leg takes place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday, March 24, 2023, with the reverse fixture to be played next Monday in Bissau.

“I’m looking forward to it, of course, two very important games toward our qualification to the AFCON.

“We are taking in the information the coaches are giving us, and we are taking it to practice.

“As always, I want to give my absolute best for my country and my team, to do my job, and to help maximise the capabilities. I’m really looking forward to the game and can’t wait to play,” Ajayi told NFF TV.

Semi Ajayi is expected to make the starting lineup in the game as Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun are not in the Super Eagles squad for the Guinea-Bissau games due to injuries.
