Ansu Fati out for four months after knee surgery

Barcelona wonder kid Ansu Fati was scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday after experiencing some discomfort in Barcelona 5-2 win over Real Betis on Saturday.

Test revealed that the 18-year-old had sustained damages to the meniscus of his left knee. Barcelona announced it in a club statement on their official website:

"The first team player, Ansu Fati, will undergo surgery tomorrow for the injury to the meniscus in his left knee. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Ramon Cugat under the supervision of the club's medical services. Once this intervention is completed, a new communique will be provided with information on the result and the approximate time the player will be out."

Ronald Koeman will have to do without the forward, who has scored 5 goals and 2 assists for Barcelona in 10 games for the Camp Nou side in all competitions.

According to Skysports: "Barcelona said on Monday that the operation on Fati's ruptured meniscus, carried out by specialist Dr Ramon Cugat was a success, but said his return would not come until approximatelys March".
