Pedri signs contract extension with Barcelona, Release Clause set at €1 Billion

BARCELONA has officially confirmed the contract extension of Pedri that will see him remain at the club till 2026. Pedri began his career with Las Palmas, making his debut for them in August 2019 at the age of 16.

BARCELONA has officially confirmed the contract extension of Pedri that will see him remain at the club till 2026.

Pedri began his career with Las Palmas, making his debut for them in August 2019 at the age of 16. He was snapped by Barcelona from Las Palmas for €5 million and immediately joined the senior squad after moving to the Nou Camp and then made his debut in September.

A statement from Barcelona reads: "FC Barcelona and the player, Pedro González 'Pedri', have agreed to a contract extension up to 30 June 2026. The release clause is set at 1 Billion Euros."

"The new contract ties down the player from the Canary Islands for the rest of this season and a further 4 years. The official signing will take place on Friday 15 October.

The midfielder aged 18 was named at Euro 2020 as the young player of the tournament.
