FORMER Napoli orthopedist, Angelo Cavallo, expects Victor Osimhen to wear a protective mask when he returns from surgery in January 2022.

Recall that the Nigeria forward suffered a fractured skull on Sunday November 21, 2021, against Inter Milan, which saw him substituted 10 min into the second half.

The striker was later scheduled to undergo a surgery, and was expected to be out for at least a month following the surgery process.

Speaking on Radio Punto Nuovo on Monday, Angelo Cavallo said:

"It will be necessary to use the protective titanium mask, especially in the early days.

"Possibility for Milan-Napoli on December 19? It is almost impossible to see him on the pitch on that date.

"Considering that in January there is the Africa Cup it is likely that Victor Osimhen will return to Napoli in February ".

Hopefully the Nigeria number 9 striker will be fit to represent Nigeria at AFCON in January.
