Official: NFF appoint Jose Paseiro as Head Coach.

THE Nigeria Football Federation has officially appointed Portuguese football manager, Jose Santos Paseiro, as Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

THE Nigeria Football Federation has officially appointed Portuguese football manager, Jose Santos Paseiro, as Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The appointment is to take place with immediate effect once the contract has been signed between both parties and the 62 years old is expected to take charge of the team at the upcoming friendlies with Mexico and Ecuador.

“Peseiro is expected to lead out the Super Eagles for the first time during the upcoming tour of the United States of America, during which the three–time African champions will slug it out with Mexico and Ecuador ‘A’ Teams in prestige friendlies" NFF spokesperson, Ademola Olajire said in a statement 

“The Eagles will tango with the El Tri at the AT & T Stadium in Dallas, State of Texas on Saturday, 28th May before flying to New Jersey to confront Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison on Thursday, 2nd June,”

Paseiro was the Assistant Manager of Real Madrid 2003-2004. He was named Manager of Sporting CP 2004-2005,2018) and also was managed Porto FC(2016) among other clubs.

He will be assisted by former Nigeria international forward, Finidi George as 1st Assistant, with Salisu Yusuf now to be second Assistant as well as Head Coach of the CHAN and U23 National Teams.
