BALLON d'Or 2024 winner and Manchester City midfielder, Rodri aims to return to football action before the end of the 24/25 football season.
Rodri ruptured the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his right knee during City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September, an injury that would keep him out for the rest of the season.
Despite the medical report, the 28-year-old Spaniard is hoping to get back before the end of the season to try and make an appearance for the citizens.
“My target is to come back this season. I don’t give up on this season, [but] I don’t want to make any mistakes. My target is six or seven months,” Rodri told The Rest Is Football podcast.
“I am doing much better than I thought. I am enjoying the rest, if it possible to say it that way. My feeling was, not like a crack, the knee was stable. I was confident it wasn’t too bad. But I have a positive mentality now and that’s it," he added.
Following his absence, City have failed to win any of their past six games in all competitions, losing five and drawing in their last Champions League fixture against Feyenoord.
