Mane misses out of PFA Award shortlist

SENEGAL and Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane, could not find his name in this season Professional Football Association (PFA) Players' Player of the Year Awards despite the good season he is enjoying with Liverpool.

The player who has been mentioned as a possible Ballon D Or winner with 15 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League this season was omitted from the list while is teammate, Mohammed  Salah, and Trent Alexander Arnold were shortlisted.

Manchester City midfielder and defender, Kevin De Bruyne, and Joao Cancelo, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur's Heung-min Son and Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse are the other nominees in the eight man list. 

Another surprising omission is Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo who has won the player of the month award twice which includes the POTM for April and also has 18 goals in the premier league this season for United.

Sadio Mane as won the league cup this season and could potentially win the Champions League trophy when they meet Real Madrid in Paris on May 28.
