Ligue 1: Patrick Vieira loses job as manager at Nice

Former France international and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has been sacked from his managing job at Nice after being eliminated from the Europa League.

Former France international and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has been sacked from his managing job at Nice after being eliminated from the Europa League.
 
Nice currently sit at 11th in the Ligue 1 table having lost their previous five games in all competitions and has been eliminated from the Europa League at the group stage.
 
The former Arsenal Midfielder spent more than two years with the club with his last game in charge, which was against Bayern Leverkusen in a 3-2 loss in the Europa League.
 
A club statement released read: Having arrived at OGC Nice in the summer of 2018, Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of OGC Nice as of today.
 
"In an interview after last night’s meeting, the Nice board informed Patrick Vieira of their decision to end their collaboration."
 
Adrien Ursea has been appointed as interim manager for Nice.
