THE defender had an incredible performance during the World Cup qualifier against the Central Africa Republic on Sunday, October 10, 2021, as he scored the opening goal and assisted in the second goal which ended the match in a 2-0 win.
While speaking with ESPN, the defender revealed that he is passionate about the country and remains dedicated to the country.
"You've seen me play for a few years now. And you know that when I step onto the pitch I always give a 100% and I am always passionate.
"Whether I am having a good performance or a bad performance, you can never actually criticize me for not trying. That is what I always give, that is the least I can do," Balogun said.
Balogun's 29th-minute goal against the Central Africa Republic was his first goal for Nigeria.
