LIVERPOOL manager, Jurgen Klopp, in a post match interview after yesterday win against Porto at the champions league group stage fixture, referred to AFCON as "a little tournament"

Klopp will be without the service of three of his key players, Sadio Mane,Naby Keita and Mohammed Salah, in January as they will all be representing their country at the AFCON.

Klopp  was asked about the lack of international breaks which he responded saying:

"No international break until March, I’ve heard that so often, but in January there’s a little tournament in Africa, I just want to say."

One of the reporters present challenged him and ask for an apology for the statements which he did noting that he didn't mean it that way.

"It’s all good, I didn’t mean it like that. I don’t know why you understand it like that to be honest," he said.

"I didn’t mean it like that, come on… so I was not even close to it being the idea in my mind that I want to talk about AFCON as a ‘little tournament’ or about the continent of Africa as a ‘little continent’, not at all."
