INTER Milan forward, Lautaro Martinez has revealed how fellow country teammate, Lionel Messi, inspired him to be a leader.
The Inter Milan forward netted yesterday's only goal against nemesis, AC Milan, to secure a spot in the Champions League final, as they had a 3-0 aggregate win after winning 2-0 in the first leg of the fixture.
Crediting Messi, Martinez, who was allowed to captain the Blue and Black side, said, "This season, I have grown so much mentally. I have teammates who help me grow. I learned a lot from Leo Messi; talking to him, he helped me with everything. Carrying that World Cup in your arms is special; I learned a lot about the leadership from him there.
“Being a captain is special; today’s evening will remain for a lifetime for me.”
Martinez was part of the Argentina team that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar under the leadership of Lionel Messi.
