Gernot Rohr is not good enough for Super Eagles, says Aiyegbeni

Former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni has said that the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, is not good enough.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria squandered a 4-goal lead to Sierra Leone to a 4-4 draw in Benin, Nigeria and then a goalless draw in the return leg at Freetown.

This has raised questions on whether Gernot Rohr is capable of coaching the Super Eagles.

In an interview with Lagos Talk, the former Leicester City forward , Yakubu Aiyegbeni, said:

The coach is not good enough, let him go.

 “Our football is getting worse every day. When I was there, people criticised us, but we’re way better than these ones."

“The coach is not good enough, no clue. Gernot Rohr is one of the worst coaches in our history. He is not good enough.” he insisted.

Nigeria still remains top of the Group L table for the African cup of Nations qualifications for Cameroon 2022 with 8 points, only one ahead of Benin who has 7.
