SUPER Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey will miss the first two games of next season with Ajax Amsterdam after picking up a red card against PSV Eindhoven.
The 22-year-old received a straight red card on his debut appearance in the Dutch Super Cup against PSV Eindhoven after a poor tackle.
Bassey who plays on the left side of a central defence only played for 10 minutes in the match before he was sent off. He was introduced in the 62nd minute of action, but picked up the red card in the 72nd minute, after committing a foul.
With this, Bassey who is a Leicester City academy graduate and Glasgow Rangers defender will miss the first two games of the 2022/2023 season against Fortuna Sittard on Saturday, August 6, 2022, and against Groningen on August 14, 2022.
Last season, Bassey played 29 league games for Rangers before moving to Ajax. He was also a transfer target for English Premier league club Brighton and Hove.
