ARSENAL's new signing, Riccardo Calafiori has revealed who and what convinced him to sign for the Gunners despite interest from other clubs, which includes Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old was unveiled as an Arsenal player yesterday, completing a €50 million deal from Serie A club, Bologna and signing a long-term contract with Arsenal.
Speaking to the club official's website, Calafiori confirmed that it took the words of Arsenal midfielder, Jorginho to convince him to join the North London side.
“I just met [Jorginho] one month ago, but I can see that he’s a really good guy. I was already convinced but he forced me.
“He said: ‘Come, come, come! You will enjoy being here, the team is amazing and the staff, everything is good.'"
“You can see that already from the first few minutes here,” he added.
Both Jorginho and Calafiori play for the Italy national team as they both represented the country at the just concluded Euro2024, reaching the Round of 16.
