BARCELONA have made it clear that they would be ready to do anything to bring Lionel Messi back to the Catalans at the end of the season when the summer transfer market opens.

The Argentine forward departed Camp Nou in 2021 due to financial difficulties within the club, which made it impossible for him to be handed a new contract. He then proceeded to sign for Paris Saint-German in France, but it appears his time at the club is over.

With the 35-year-old set to leave PSG, Barcelona is hoping to play their cards right and bring back the seven-times Ballon d'Or winner to the place where his football career began.

Speaking after Barcelona secured the La Liga title on Sunday, Barcelona CEO, Joan Laporta, said to Jijantes, “We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona.”

Vice-President Rafa Yuste also said, “Messi? He’s a very good friend of many guys who are celebrating La Liga today… I’m sure he is so happy! I would love Messi to come back.”

Should Barcelona make a move for Leo, they would need to fend off rival interest from MLS and Saudi Arabia to put a deal for Messi in place.
