MIKEL Arteta continues to insist that Alexander Lacazette remains an important part of the squad.

Lacazette came off the bench in Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Crystal palace to score the last minute and equalizing goal.

The Frenchman, who has less than a year left on his contract, has been linked for a move away from the club.

With his contract coming to an end soon, Lacazette would be free to start negotiating with other clubs in January provided Arsenal does not propose a new contract.

Arsenal's first team manger, Mikel Arteta, insists that Lacazette is still very important to the squad.

"He’s a player who since I've been here has played a lot, has been important, and he will continue to be important." Arteta said in a press conference today ahead of Arsenal's Premier League's fixture against Aston Villa tomorrow, October 22, 2021.

Other teams such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Lyon and Newcastle United are already keeping tabs on the striker and could submit an offer in January.
