Araujo discharged from the hospital following head injury

BARCELONA defender, Ronald Araujo, has been discharged from the hospital after he was rushed in an ambulance following a head clash in yesterday fixture against Celta Vigo.

The 23-year-old was involved in a  clash of heads with teammate Gavi while challenging for a loop ball in the 62nd minutes during the match and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance that had to come into the Camp Nou pitch.

Barcelona has since issued an official statement confirming the that the player is out of danger and has been discharged.

"Complementary tests on first-team player Ronald Araujo has been successful and he has been discharged from the hospital," the club tweeted on Wednesday. 

Gavi who was also involved in the head clash continued the rest of the game and even played the additional eleven minute stoppage time, indicating that the player did not suffer any problem.

Barcelona went ahead to win the match 3-1 with a brace from former Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and a goal from Memphis Depay before Celta talisman Iago Aspas pulled one back.
