Amokachi believes if other players perform as well as Osimhen, Nigeria would be able to stand up to any team.

FORMER Super Eagles of Nigeria player and legendary striker, Daniel Amokachi has named Napoli star, Victor Osimhen as one of the top five strikers in the world.

Amokachi, in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu's Rubbin' Minds on Channels Television, spoke about the current national team and how he believes Jose Peseiro can get the best out of them.

During the conversation, Amokachi took his time to explain why it is necessary to have top players like Osimhen express themselves on the field instead of sticking to the traditional role.

"You have Osimhen who, when we lost out of the World Cup, probably he, was the only player that (did well). If we had three or four Osimhens the day we played Ghana, probably, we would have been singing a different song now.

"We would have been there because he's a player that the whole world knows that he's in the top five strikers globally today.

"If we have a manager who will allow those players to express themselves as I said, we will be in Canada, America, or Mexico but we need to unleash those players for them to express themselves," he said.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria seem to be having difficulties settling down under the new boss, Jose Peseiro, as they have lost four out of four friendly games under Peseiro, with their only win under the manager coming in the African Cup of Nations qualifier.
