ALIMOSHO Association of Proprietors Football Academies, Nigeria Chapter, is planning to hold the U-13, 15 and 17 Alimosho APFAN Leagues in October.

The Coordinator, Coach Ojo Oyebode, who confirmed this, said he has been moving around Alimosho to talk to football academies owners concerning the importance of the programme.

He also said he was impressed with the responses of many of the club owners concerning the programme.

According to him: “If not for COVID-19, we should have started the programme by now but unfortunately the pandemic really rattled our programmes. Presently, we are on course and we are waiting for government to lift the ban on football and we can commence our programme as scheduled."

He said various categories of football academies within Alimosho are expected to take part in the completion, noting that the league is on a knockout basis and only the winners in each category would represent Alimosho at the State APFAN league.

Chairman of APFAN Lagos Chapter, Prince Tunde Alade, confirmed that all the 20 local governments would play their league and winners in various categories in each local government would converge at Alade Sports Complex for State finals.

“My coordinators in various local governments are working behind the scene and calling me on phone to give me updates. I think things are moving fast, but presently we want to abide by the government directive, so the programme cannot commence now, but it is certain that we would hold it this year because all arrangements have been put in place by the APFAN at the state level,” he said.
