The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be facing Sierra Leone on Friday, but will need to submit at least 15 players to escape sanction from the African football governing body, Confederation Africaine de Football, CAF.

The Nigeria Football Federation had invited 23 players for the game against Sierra Leone, unfortunately, most European countries are putting a shutdown to their borders due to a new spike in the spread of COVID-19, thereby making it difficult for some players to return to the country.

CAF at the weekend earlier announced that teams who fail to secure an Africa Cup of Nation qualifying fixture with 15players ( starting XI with 4 substitute) will be handed an automatic 2-0 defeat.

According to NFF Media Director, Ademola Olajire, there might be a need to resort to Nigerian Professional Football League players, if players overseas are unable to make the trip to Benin.

Already, Kelechi Ihenacho, Ahmed Musa, Oghenekaro Etebo and Paul Onuachu have arrived in camp.
